I’m a 22 year old recent college grad with an undying love for healthy living. I studied Marketing, Spanish, and International Business at Virginia Tech, but there is so much more that interests me.
I enjoy staying active and concocting creative, healthy dishes. I love challenging myself to learn more about my health and the foods I eat, and am constantly making improvements to my life, in efforts to put forward the best Colleen I can.
My latest venture has been veganism. I attempted an experimental “vegan week” in early July 2013, and from there, it was history. I’ve never been more satisfied with my health, fitness and worldly consciousness than where I’m at right now. The distance I’ve come since just the beginning of my college years is astounding, and I only learn more as time goes by. It feels as though my eyes have been opened to the world around me and I am so grateful for that. Being able to fuel my body with only the most vibrant, nutrient dense foods on the planet is a tremendous privilege. Being able to feel on top of the world with every meal I eat is no coincidence. Going vegan is one of the best decisions I have ever made, so naturally, I intend to continue on this wondrous plant-based journey for the rest of my life.
All in all, I’ve realized the most important thing is to “eat clean.” In other words, cut out all processed foods and surround yourself with nutrient-dense, wholesome foods instead; food as mother nature intended it to be.
Not that I am some expert life guru or anything, but I truly believe that getting the most out of life starts with eating right and staying active, so I thought I would share some of what I do with you. Hopefully this way, you all will [C HOW I DO].
